Here is Tina’s Story

“I have been an avid runner for many years. In January 2021, I was on a run and felt intense pain in my right hip; I decided to take it easy for a couple days, but the pain did not subside. It turned out that I had fractured my femoral head (hip), that was displaced, and that I needed to have major surgery, urgently. My recovery was very slow. I was non-weight bearing for 12 weeks. All I wanted to do was get out and run again! I was in physical therapy, but felt like I wasn’t making the strides in my recovery I’d need in order to get back to running again.

One day I ran into Jenn in our neighborhood – and she and I started talking and she mentioned that she was also an avid runner, and that we should run together sometime. I told her the story about my injury, and said that I really wanted to get to a point where I could start running again. She told me that she could help me with that. I knew she was a Pilates and Yoga instructor, and I was excited to see if she could help me improve my recovery process and results. She wasn’t lying! I started doing personal Pilates training with Jenn 2-3 times a week last summer. I was truly amazed at how much better I began to feel, and how much stronger I became. I was cleared by my doctor in August to try to run again and will continue to work with Jenn to get there.

During my training with Jenn, we became close friends and began to talk about what the next step in our lives could be – that is where the idea of Beach Waves Yoga began. Something that started out as a dream has now turned into our Beach Waves Yoga, and we cannot wait to share our Yoga and Pilates studio with our community.”
